Two National titles. PCG Coaches Representing Canada.
Over 100 Collegiate-aged athletes took the floor at the end of November and brought home two National Championships. The Western Mustangs won their 31st National Title, and Crazy Fish won their first Open 4.2 National Title. Western All Girl finished 2nd to the Laurier Golden Hawks in a tough division, and the Fanshawe Black Falcons came in 2nd up against the Nationals’ top Small Coed University teams (4 or less males).
The Power Cheer Gym is the number one training facility in Canada for athletes wishing to pursue the sport after graduation from high school.
The Viper Program kicked off its season with an in-house Gym Showcase featuring five teams from our Youth, Junior and Senior programs. Parents, family and friends got their first taste of what our teams will be offering this season. The afternoon also featured the debut of the new uniforms that our advanced level teams will be wearing this season.
The competition season for the Vipers starts in January and rolls full steam ahead until mid-April, with teams traveling to St. Catharines, Brampton, Kitchener, Barrie, Orlando (Florida) and Niagara Falls.
The PCG is also happy to announce that 10 athletes (and PCG Coaches) have been selected to represent Canada at this year’s World Cheerleading Championships. PCG Owner and Western Coach David-Lee Tracey will be coaching the co-ed team once again, and joining him will be coaches Kurt Ford, Max Pfeiffer and Josh Kashef. Senior Coach Kaitlyn Harvey and Mustang Natalie Wong will represent Canada on the All Girl team. Jessie Pinkney, Sam Yerkie and Kayla Taylor from Western All Girl will train with the All Girl program as well.
We’re always asked, “can we still join a team now that the season has started?” And the answer is always YES! Every team and ability level has openings, and the gym offers a big discount on registration for athletes wishing to get involved mid-year. Interested athletes/parents are invited to call the gym at 519-667-0565 or drop in any day of the week to tour the facility and even participate in a team workout!
